Texas Tar Sands Showdown

The Oklahoma to Texas leg of Keystone XL is already under construction, bringing hundreds of thousands of barrels a day of tar sands oil across farms and homes, to be refined in communities on Houston's East End that are already getting sick from toxic industrial pollution. Grassroots groups across Texas are already standing up against the pipeline, and together we will confront the industry that is putting so many lives at risk.

What: Tar Sands Showdown: KXL Stops Here
Where: Houston Metro Area
When: TBA - Event postponed until late Sept/early Oct to allow more time for community engagement
Why: To stand with communities already feeling the impact of Keystone XL and tar sands pollution, and confront big oil in their back yard.
